This month’s lecture: Paul Simpson- The History and prehistory of the bison herd at Big Bone Lick
The meeting will begin at 6:00 at Boone County’s Scheben Library in Union. The program will begin at 7:00.

Many local and out of-state people visit Big Bone Lick State Historic Site, but few understand the significance of Big Bone’s bison herd. Join Paul Simpson, manager of the bison herd, to understand the history and pre-history of why bison were attracted to the Big Bone Valley and how over time the bison adapted to their surroundings. Also learn about the park’s current herd and how it is managed as Simpson takes the audience on a visual tour of the bison and describes current and future plans for the herd.
